Snark Busters: High Society is a hidden-object game set in an american 60' style fantasy world. You play the role of Elizabeth Hughes, a famous photographer. Her fiancee is accused of stealing something from a wealthy woman and Elizabeth tries to prove his innocence. The game has a mysterious theme, and a good amount of puzzles.
It has two difficulty settings: regular and expert. The nice thing about this game is that you can actually switch between the regular or expert mode while playing. In most other games the mode you choose at the beginning of the game is locked. This gives a lot of freedom to the player, because there may be times when you just feel like relaxing and you might go with the regular mode. While another time you might be looking for a challenge and choose the expert mode.
The gameplay is really well made. Instead of searching for large amount of objects which have no apparent use, you'll need to search for a relatively small amount of items but each one has a purpose. For example, unlocking a drawer might require 5 keys, and each time you find a key, the drawer will be highlighted. This is a different approach to hidden-object games and I really like it. Also there will be lots of different types of puzzles throughout the game. Another interesting aspect about Snark Busters: High Society, is that you aren't always given indications on what you're supposed to do. This can make it very interesting for a player, because he will have the thrill of discovering by himself, but sometimes it is plain frustrating. I had to use the hint button several times, because I couldn't figure out what to do next and I didn't want to click everywhere on the screen until I find something.
The artwork is very good and the game screen is interactive. This is very nice, because in other hidden-object games, the game screen is just like a picture where you need to find stuff. The game has a good number of cut-scenes which are very well made. The voices of actors also are very good, giving more credibility to the whole 60' theme.
Snark Busters: High Society is definitely a good game. If you're a fan of hidden-object games, you should give this one a try.
